An old Miniature Dachshund has found his new best friend after his parents realized he was looking a little lonely.
On November 15, TikTok user Pop the Saus (@pop_sausage) shared a video of their senior dog named Pop and her new best friend. Take a look!

In a quick 23-second video, we’re introduced to a very sweet Daschund doggy named Pop. Like many senior dogs, she was slowing down some, and her human parents had the best idea.
Pop is standing and looking at something that’s moving in a dog bed. She gets closer and sees a pug puppy. At first, she’s cautious, walking up slowly to smell the new baby with her tail wagging.
She steps off to the side, still shy, but the camera cuts to another scene, and this time Pop and the puppy are much closer.
Sitting on their mom’s lap, the two dogs are comfortably snoozing. The puppy is on their back, and Pop is snuggled right up beside their new sibling.
Next, the two dogs are playfully chasing each other, their tails wagging, and they’re as happy as they could be. They enjoy a tasty dog treat together, jump around on the grass, in the sand. They cuddle on a swing outside and on their giant, cozy dog bed, too.
“We got our senior doggo a puppy,” the video caption reads. And viewers left their thoughts in the comments.
“So precious,” one shared.
“There is too much cuteness in this video,” someone else declared.
“So pure,” added another, along with several smile emojis.
“Awww,” wrote someone else.
According to the American Kennel Club, there are a few considerations you should look into before introducing your senior dog to a new puppy. This includes ensuring both have had a clear veterinary visit and always being present with the dogs when you’re letting them spend some time together until both are happy and settled.
These two pups prove senior dogs and puppies can become the best of friends.
